This piece was inspired by the work of artist Laylah Ali's Greenhead Series. When looking at this piece, Tess wanted one to feel the conflict between her two primary materials, tissue-paper and the hardware cloth, the same way she sees the conflict in Laylah Ali’s work between her figures and objects. This conflict of hard and soft was the inspiration for the garment. Tess tried to represent the feeling of Ali's work while interpreting it into her retro, bold and feminine design aesthetic.
